FROM THE RODEO TO THE BACK-HOE
Founder Steve Miles started Miles Excavating in 1983 when he traded in one kind of horsepower for another. The former rodeo competitor sold his beloved quarter horse to buy his first back-hoe, and a career in excavating was born.
Many back-hoes later, Miles Excavating has grown to a 160-employee firm. While, today, the company boasts a modern fleet of equipment and a history of successful projects that exceed client expectations time after time, Miles’ hands-on involvement in the firm has not changed. He’s still actively engaged in every project, serving as quality assurance manager, providing project estimates, meeting regularly with superintendents, overseeing job sites, and working in the trenches.
We have a superior track record of experience, a reputation for hiring highly qualified personnel, and is dedicated to owning state-of-the-art, environmentally responsible equipment, ensuring reliability and the highest quality of workmanship on every project.
As a family-owned business, Miles Excavating is dedicated to improving the quality of life of those communities in which we work through an exceptional work ethic, focus on safety, stewardship in the community, and loyalty to clients, employees, and business associates.
With more than three decades of experience, Miles Excavating has proven that its commitment to providing “miles of excellence” sets us miles ahead of the competition.
